In mini baccarat only 2 hands are ever dealt (one for the player and one for the banker), unlike most other table games where each player has their own hand.
The player will place a bet on the “player” hand, “banker” hand or tie. There are also 2 side bets the Panda 8 and the Dragon 7 bet that the player can make.
Once the player has placed their bets, the dealer will deal two cards to the “dealer” hand and two cards to the “player” hand. If the cards from either hand add up to 8 or 9 it is called a natural and that hand automatically wins. If neither of the hands add up to 8 or 9 then the dealer will add one extra card to the hand as per the drawing rules. It is important to note that Aces always have a value of one, 10s and face cards have a value of 0 and if the total of the cards equal more than 10 the first digit is omitted. For example if a hand was to be dealt a 6 and a 6 the total for that hand would be 2.
